Some thoughts…

Transcend misfortunate events

“Surely, things shall get better,” she said.
I wanted to know just one thing.
Who the hell was “Shirley,” and why should I believe her?

- Jane Curtin, comedian (1947-   )

Always you

Although there may be tragedy in your life, there’s always a possibility to triumph. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you. Always.

-Oprah Winfrey, television host (1954-   )

Conversation in a Jungle

I postpone death by living, by suffering, by error, by risking, by loving.

-Anais Nin, French writer (1903-1977)

Perfect Melody

When you’re out of harmony with the law, you experience lack in your life, but that is just experience you are creating. The Universe is continually giving, and so you must learn how to tune yourself with the harmony of the Universe. And the perfect melody is this: good thoughts, good words, and good actions.

Know that courage isn’t only owned by heroes.

“Courage is more exhilarating than fear, and it is easier. Meeting each thing that comes up. Seeing it not as dreadful as it appeared but discovering that we have the strength to stare it down.”
Eleanor Roosevelt, former first lady (1884-1962)

COURAGE CAN SAVE LIVES, TELL PUBLIC TRUTHS, AND HELP ONE FACE LIFE-ALTERING SITUATIONS. YET COURAGE DOES NOT   HAVE TO BE PLAYED OUT ON A NATIONAL STAGE.

Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.”

Turn “to-do” list into a “don’t have to-do” list

“I hate housework! You make the beds, you do the dishes-and six months later you have to start all over again.

Joan Rivers, comedian (1933-     )

Author and management Consultant Tom Peters suggests it’s time to turn our to-do list into a “to-don’t have to do” list.

We need to rid our to do lists of things that don’t matter, don’t create value, don’t make a difference. We need to restructure our lives and take more time to do things that bring us joy. Women need to carve out time for the activities that will create meaningful lives and discard the things that won’t.

Think about this tomorrow morning when you compile your to-do list. What two things can you take off that really don’t have to be done?

Maybe you can have a Protein Shake for the whole family instead of spending time cooking fancy meal?

Maybe it’s more important to take your children to the park instead of watching
mindless TV show.

What can you do to turn your “to-do” list into a “don’t-have-to do” list?

Thought-waves

“Like a stone thrown into the water, thought produces ripples and waves which spread out over the great ocean of thought. There is this difference, however: the waves on the water move only on a level plane in all directions, whereas thought-waves  move in all directions from a common center, just as do the rays from the sun.”

Welliam walker Atkinson (1862-1932)
