Childhood conditioning keeps us trapped.

Childhood conditioning keeps us trapped: low or erratic self-esteem plagues us.

Childhood is the first, inescapable political situation each of us has to negotiate. You powerless. You are on the wrong side in every respect. Besides that, there’s the size thing.

-June Jordan, poet,essayist, activist

We can start to change it. Begin by just Noticing.

Pay attention to how you feel about yourself in all kinds of different situations. When do you feel peaceful and happy? When do feel insecure? Worthless? Not good enough? How would you describe your self-esteem? On a scale of one to ten, ten being highest, how would you rate your self-acceptance, self regard, self-love? Is it consistent all the time, or does it change a lot? When does it go up? When does it go down? Just notice.. You don’t have to do anything right now, Just notice.

From the series:
Why don’t I do the things I know are GOOD FOR ME?
Taking small steps toward improving the Big Picture.

What is Health?

“Beauty is not just physical.”
Halle Berry - Actor.

Health is the greatest blessing we have. It is a foundation for everything we dream. Health, be definition is personal. It is about having the ability to live your life to its fullest potential. It is not about another’s ideal.

Many of us abuse our health. We look to the media to guide us in terms of what we should look like and what size we should be. Often this leads to frustration when our results do not mirror those on the magazine cover.

Health is about vitality. It is about living in a state free of “dis ease.’
It is about having freedom and peace within one’s own body. It is about creating the connection between your soul and your physical being.

Question

Question

Never stop asking. Ask who you are, why you’re here, what your live’s purpose is all about–and be perfectly content not to know any of the answers. Ask Why me? Why her? Why not them? Question your motives and those others. Is your intention pure? Question why the woman down the street with yellow curtains at ht her window makes you remorseful about your younger sister. Just question; the answer make take months or years to present itself. Question why others have what you so desperately want-and then question why you so desperately want it. Sit with not knowing, as difficult and frustrating as it feels. Sit. Without questions, how will you ever stumble onto any answers? Don’t rush toward resolution. At the heart of every question lies a greater quest.

It’s in your hands.

You are diligent in keeping your car full of fuel. Are you as diligent in keeping yourself full with good thoughts and good feelings?

You can only go in the direction you want in your life when you have the right fuel, and enough of it.
