Caretake

Before you can caretake others, take care to take care of yourself. Take care of your own heart so  you can inspire to open theirs. Take care of your mind so you remain a clear and focused guide. Only then are you ready to caretake an elder, an infant, an invalid. Caretake the living, the dying. the injured, the fallen. Caretake a school, a house, a farm, that tiny park that no one else seems to care about. Caretake an organization that is flondering, a neighborhood that’s crumbling, a woman who has lost her way. Take time to care mindfully and to care well. Most important, take care you don’t give up entire life by talking care of everyone but yourself.

Notes from The Editor

Learn how to love yourself, do not work hard to prove that you’re worthy. Doing this is a wrong reason. One day you will be disappointed. What does loving yourself mean? It actually has very little to do with being self-centered. It has to do with self approval and self improving. You invest in your own worth, physically, spiritually, intellectually, so you become the best you can be. It’s an ongoing process. It’s life time process, so plan it for yourself, and help others to plan it too.
