On a piece of paper draw a big wheel with eight spokes representing these areas of your life: Finances, Health, Family/Friends, Romance/Significant Other, Career, Fun/Recreation, Personal Growth, and Service to Others. Then rate your satisfaction in each area on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 is closest to the hub of the wheel; 10 is at the outside). Which areas are most important to you? In which area would you like to increase your satisfaction? Write down what action it would take to reach the highest level of satisfaction (a 10).
For instance, if your feeling barometer is registering you at a level 2 in the financial area, what would it take you to a level 10? Perhaps you would like to make $ 100.000 this year. Write it down. This will allow you to visualize what a 10 would look like in that area of your life and help you focus on the end result of achieving that perfect 10.
