Leadership for Life (cont-n)

(cont. from 21 & 22 October)

6. Be aware of Your Perceptions.

Whether a perception is born out of higher education or simple lighthearted story shared at a dinner party, each one of us interprets what we heard differently.. We’re all encountered the concept of “mind-over-matter.”

The situations that we find ourselves in can be enough to change our entire outlook , depending on our perception.
We really can control the power of our minds.

Certainly not by coincidence; when we focus our energy on the negative, we are consequently planting the seed of negativity in our lives.

One of the most unfortunate things to witness is someone who has a false perception of unrealistic expectations they’ve set for themselves. In turn they feel that their goals are unattainable. A downward spiral of frustration usually ensues and they become overwhelmed and discouraged until eventually what started with good intentions and promise ends in frustration and anger.

Minor changes in our perception will lead us to desirable outcomes. Naturally, the choices that we make are largely based on what we think is best for us, given our unique set of circumstances that will dictate the choices we make.

By closely monitoring our perceptions (right, wrong or different) we can start to better control our choices and in turn control whether or not we attain our desired success.
